Who We Are
United Soft Plastics (USP) is a global thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) manufacturer headquartered in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Since 2005, we’ve served customers in more than 30 countries with over 4,000 unique soft plastic compounds.
We operate state of the art facilities equipped with high end production systems, from vendors such as Coperion, KraussMaffei Brabender, Kreyenborg and GALA (MAAG). This setup enables us to consistently deliver high-performance compounds at scale — more than 12,000 metric tons annually — while meeting the strictest standards for quality, safety, and efficiency.
Our team of experts supports more than 500 clients worldwide with responsive customer service, deep technical knowledge, and a growing portfolio of TPE solutions designed for a wide range of processing needs and end uses.
Our History
United Soft Plastics was founded by Rudi Herbst as a family business in 2005 in Lawrenceville, Georgia, with a focus on high-quality thermoplastic elastomer production using the latest compounding technology. Within a year, commercial production was underway, and by 2009, USP secured long-term operational control by acquiring its facility and land.
As demand for soft plastic solutions grew, so did USP’s global reach. Between 2010 and 2019, the company expanded internationally, establishing offices and operations in Mexico, Malaysia, Germany, and China. In 2015, USP became ISO 9001:2008 certified and later upgraded to ISO 9001:2015, reinforcing its commitment to consistent quality. The launch of a second production facility in Houston, Texas, in 2019 doubled capacity to 12,000 metric tons per year, supporting customers across more than 30 countries. Since 2019 further offices have been added in Hongkong and Thailand, and a second warehouse was established in Mexico.
